Now, let's try combining some of the bends we've learned in a couple of different licks. The example below is a blues in A. For a blues in A, a good target note for our A9 chord in measure 1 is a C# (which is the 3rd of the chord). For our D9 chord in measure 2, a good target note is a C (which is the b7 of the chord). So in our lick, we target these notes, but instead of playing them verbatim, we start 1 fret below them and bend into them. The result is shown in the example below.
